Thought the Super Famicom died in the late 90s? Nope! Like Elvis Presley, the Super Famicom and SNES have only been declared "officially" dead - the reality is that the 16-bit powerhouse is still alive and being developed for by awesome independent developers, programmers and engineers!
And wouldn't you know it - it's still not as widely known that new developments come out for the Super Famicom all the time. Your best bet seems to be bookmarking random gbatemp.net posts and online game stores to get a decent idea of what's all out there. While this modest website won't promise to be the conglomerated authority on it, we at SFCaliber wanted to at least get interested parties started off on the right foot to breathing new life into this ageless console.
Those of you who are independent developers and want to get some exposure for your product or game, contact us here! We'd be happy to share the news.
One thing to note before going further - piracy and other such activities are closely tied in with independent game developing, so do tread at your own risk. We're not encouraging you to pirate anything and we will warn that some products may be unauthorized clones of hardware or software that could potentially damage your computer or console. Do your research and, again, do so at your own risk, even if the risk is quite low.
